Every time a new Spider-Man or Batman film comes out, the first question on the minds of fans is who is going to be the villain? Choose a poor villain and fans will likely derail the film before it’s even released, but choose a good one and the hype will guarantee success.
According to reports, Jamie Foxx, (Collateral) is in talks to star in The Amazing Spider-man sequel as the villain Electro. The previous villain of the newly rebooted franchise was the Lizard, played by Rhys Ifans, but now it seems Sony are going for a more classic villain, as they look to build on the unresolved story from the first film.
Electro, known for his classic flamboyant green and yellow costume, will likely get a redesign more akin to the Ultimate Comics version.
Directed by Marc Webb, and starring Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone, The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is set for release on the 18th April 2014.
